Mont Blanc
In january 2012 my team was asked to make a real-time 3D visualization of the Mont Blanc for the Bard Fortress Museum permanent exhibition.
Because the mountain is so famous, high detail and fidelity were major requisites for the production.
For this purpose we first developed a production pipeline to import and refine digital elevation models. Then we developed custom CgFX shaders that enabled us to combine procedural textures with satellite photographs.
The result is a detail-rich landscape that alpinists can immediately recognize as the famous Mont Blanc.
