A coulple of strange objects found in an abandoned crate... grenades?
A science-fiction high-res prop ready for some game cinematics.
This project was about creating a model following a specific concept (made by Atomhawk) but with some leeway on adding details.
I tried to get a clean mesh topology intended for subdivision in Maya. As usual I experimented a little bit with texturing, so I unleashed DDO, MARI and 3dsMax procedurals to obtain some nice little details all around. Then I rendered a ton of passes at 4K resolution with Vray and composited everything in Photoshop. I finally added some lens dirt and dust, then color graded everything
I also gave Marvelous Designer a try to make the duct tape... great fun :)
